| The retreat is
interspersed with conversations on the nature of the mind, its
workings and how one's mental energy interacts with universal
energy. The depth of these discussions will depend
on the prior knowledge or experience of the participant.
The key focus of the
retreat will be on the provision of personalised instruction in
advanced methods of guided and unguided meditation to enable the
participant gain a first hand experience of their effects - on
one's state of mind, on one's ability to focus the mind on one's
goals and objectives and on how this higher state of mind can be
applied to every aspect of daily life - on an everyday basis.
The exact
structure of the retreat will depend on the participant's prior
knowledge of the psychological and spiritual aspects of the mind
and the nature of universal energy - as explored from the
complimentary perspectives of spiritual teaching and quantum
physics.
The timetable and
exercises explored will, therefore, vary from participant to
participant. However, key elements of the retreat include
anapana and vipassana meditation. It should be noted that
these elements are explored to enable the participant put the
experiential results to practical everyday use.
These forms of meditation are not taught as an end in
themselves.
The retreat also
makes full use of the natural alpine surroundings and includes
mountain walks and picnics - dependent on weather conditions.
In addition, a visit to one of the oldest thermal treatment
establishments in Europe, at St. Gervais-les-Bains may be
included.
The retreat may
be jointly taken by spouses or partners.
All retreats are
personally facilitated in English by Willie Horton.
